Dr. Jacobs is one of only a few dually licensed veterinarian/physical therapists in the country. He is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, where he received his master’s degree in physical therapy. He owned and operated two physical therapy centers prior to managing four centers for a major rehabilitation corporation. Dr. Jacobs received his DVM degree from the University of Illinois in May 2003. He has attended several canine sports medicine and physical therapy seminars and received his certification to perform the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO). He is also certified in the PennHIP procedure, performs the tightrope cruciate ligament injury stabilization technique (Tightrope), and has been trained in canine total hip and knee replacement surgery. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Canine Sports Medicine Association. When not working, Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with his family and three Labrador retrievers. He also enjoys the outdoors, competing in triathlons, and traveling.
