We understand that it can be overwhelming when your pet needs surgery, but we are here to guide you through the entire process and provide top-notch care for your furry friend.

What to expect when your pet undergoes surgery:

Before surgery:

Once your pet’s surgical procedure is recommended, we will thoroughly discuss the surgery with you and answer any questions you may have. We will also provide you with details on how to prepare your pet for surgery, which may include fasting after midnight before the surgery.

When you arrive for your pet’s scheduled surgical drop-off, please plan on spending 10-15 minutes going over some important paperwork, including surgical consent and estimate. We require a 50% deposit at check-in, with the remainder of the balance due when you pick up your pet.

During surgery:

Your pet’s safety is our number one priority. We take our anesthetic protocol very seriously and use the safest anesthetic medications and equipment available. Prior to surgery, we recommend doing a comprehensive panel of blood work to evaluate your pet’s overall health and tailor their anesthesia to their medical needs.

During surgery, your pet is closely monitored by our certified veterinary technicians under the supervision of the doctor performing the procedure. State-of-the-art monitoring equipment allows us to know exactly how your pet is doing and make any necessary changes to keep them safe. Every patient has an intravenous catheter placed and receives IV fluids to maintain appropriate blood pressure and hydration. We also take care to make sure your pet maintains a safe body temperature throughout the procedure and recovery.

After surgery:

After surgery, your pet is cared for with the diligent supervision and hands-on attention they deserve. Every patient receives pain management medications along with calming techniques to promote rapid healing and a state of positive well-being.
