Weight Management Programs
Maintaining proper weight is crucial for pets. Leaner dogs have been shown to have less disease and live longer. They are healthier and happier. Lighter dogs are more active, exercise better and have more fun. We take weight seriously at our facility. Dogs are weighed at each visit so we can monitor weight effectively. Nutrition counseling is performed on a regular basis. The body condition score is monitored closely as well. The proper diet is chosen for your pet and the proper amount to feed is determined. Owners are educated in the proper diet, supplements, exercise and treats. Prescription diets are available. Often times, pets that begin exercising and lose weight are able to decrease or eliminate the need for anti-inflammatory medications.

Canine Physical Therapy

Sports medicine and physical rehabilitation have been used for years to assist humans to achieve a full recovery following injury and/or surgery. It has also been utilized to enhance performance of many types of athletes. These same methods can now be utilized with your pet. Physical therapy can reduce the need for anti-inflammatory medication for your pet. It can also be utilized to improve performance of your pet in athletic events. A sport-specific conditioning program can be designed specifically for your dog. Animals can now recover from injuries that were once career ending with the use of physical therapy and, in some cases, advanced surgical techniques.
